HRS Trusted Vendors: Gorilla Exteriors

An important competitive advantage of working with Home Rental Services is our vendor network. We have trusted relationships with so many vendors in the Kansas City Metro! We manage homes on the Kansas and Missouri sides of the KC metro. This requires us to have relationships with service companies that do a good job, stand by their work, communicate well, and charge reasonable prices.

The majority of our vendor relationships took many years to build and strengthen. It’s not easy to become a trusted vendor of Home Rental Services. There are quite a few things that they have to provide as well as being able to work within our framework for getting projects completed. They have to provide proof of insurance and other documentation before we send them any jobs.

Here’s what we require from our vendors to get started:

• Current general liability insurance
• Current work comp insurance
• W9
• They have to set up a profile in Property Meld, the maintenance software we use to share work orders. This is where they will get the scope of work request, renter’s contact information, and the ability to schedule the project.

Now that you know what it takes to be a vendor for HRS, we wanted to share an example of one of our trusted vendors.

Gorilla Exteriors

We’ve been working with Gorilla Exteriors for more than a decade. Like their name says, they do pretty much anything related to the exterior of a residential home. (They also do commercial work, so they have a broad set of skills and experience.) Projects that we trust them to handle include roofing, siding, gutters, garage doors, painting and more. And when we say that we trust them… not only do they do projects for our clients, but they do work on our personal houses as well. This includes multiple roofs, siding and more.

In other words, we use the same vendors for our clients as we do for ourselves. (As it should be.)

Recently, Christian Jegen, Senior Sales Manager and contractor for Gorilla Exteriors stopped by with breakfast for our team. (Not many things gets the HRS staff together at an agreed upon time as quickly as breakfast pizza from Casey’s.) We talked about some of the current projects they are working on for us as well as upcoming projects. It was a wonderful treat for our staff, and an example of the strong relationships we have with our vendors.
