Whitney from RentPathRecently, Kandy and Caitlin went to Las Vegas for the 2016 NARPM Broker/Owner Retreat. It’s an event where the owners and brokers of property management companies from all over the country get together to share best practices and network. There’s also a “vendor fair” of companies that offer products and services to the property management industry.

RentPath

RentPath is one of the vendors we use to advertise our listings who was at the vendor fair. They own a few major websites that advertise available rental homes, including Rentals.com and RentalHouses.com. We are friends with Whitney Watters and enjoyed getting to see her at the event!

Advanced Risk Management

The theme for the convention was Advanced Risk Management. There were discussions about managing risk, understanding laws that affect how we manage real estate, important items that should be in our policy and procedures manual, and more. There were classes on running your business while you aren’t present (because you’re at a conference, with clients or out networking!) There was also a breakout session with tips for making the office run more smoothly.

Market Analysis

In one class, we saw market analysis data and heard the forecast on the real estate market. (The rental market is expected to stay strong over the next year.)

New Referral Program

We’re in the process of implementing a new referral program for Realtors that we heard during a round table session of other property management companies.

The Mirage and The Beatles

Kandy and Caitlin stayed at the Mirage Hotel and Casino where the retreat was held. The major show at the Mirage is the Beatles Cirque de Soleil show and they were able to see it one evening. They loved the great music and amazing sets!

We’re excited about implementing some of the things we learned and look forward to the next NARPM convention in October!
