At the end of February, Kandy Meehan attended the two day NARPM® Broker/Owner retreat held in Las Vegas. (NARPM is short for National Association of Residential Property Managers.) Conventions and ongoing educational events from NARPM® are one of the ways we make sure we are current with best practices related to property management.
The following is a quote from the NARPM.org web site: NARPM® property managers have heightened expertise and industry knowledge to assist them in doing the best possible job. They are real estate professionals who know first-hand the unique challenges of managing rental property in today’s constantly changing economic and legislative environment. And they know how to manage those challenges to everyone’s benefit. They can maximize rents and income for you; and they will manage the property efficiently, professionally and economically.
The event was jam packed with great information and Kandy mentioned that it felt like drinking water from a fire house. The events covered topics including marketing, employment issues, working smarter with technology and more. There were some impressive keynotes, including a discussion around word of mouth going online as consumer guides. Darnell Holloway, employed by Yelp.com gave that presentation.
Our owners, renters and vendors will continue to benefit as we adopt new and more efficient ways to do business, manage properties, and connect owners to renters. We hope that you have the same access to educational opportunities in your business, and if not, they are out there!
It is so important to have events like this where managers from various areas share ideas and information about doing business and managing properties more efficiently. In order to improve and progress, we must be educated!
