Happy New Year!
When January comes around, it’s customary to look forward at the calendar to make goals, resolutions and plans for what you want to accomplish in the year ahead. While I often participate in this practice, I’m going to save that for another time. Instead, I want to take a look back at the year we’re leaving… and bid farewell to 2019.
One of my favorite traditions that we have created in my family is on New Year’s Eve. We pull out our phones, sync them up with the TV and run through all of the pictures and videos taken over the course of that year.
I think it’s important (and fun) to do this. To reflect. To appreciate where we began and were we ended. So, in that same way, I want to take a little time to review the past year here at HRS.
Let’s consider this a miniature highlight reel of some of the things we did that made a big impact in 2019.
Upgraded Computers and Migrated to Windows 10
What can I say besides… it was time. Microsoft is almost to the end of supporting Windows 7. In other words, no more updates. This leaves Windows 7 open to hacking in the months to come. If you are still running a computer with Windows 7, it would be a good idea to look at upgrading to Windows 10.
Implemented New Guarantees in our Management Agreement
Pet Guarantee
This provides our owners with up to $3,000 in coverage for pet related damage that exceeds the security deposit. (Certain restrictions apply. Give us a call for more details!)
6 Month Tenant Placement Guarantee
This provides our owners the assurance that we’ll replace a tenant at no cost if the tenant must be evicted during the first 6 months of the lease.
Began using a new CRM
This allowed us to combine three different programs into one and really streamline our contact management process.
Started accepting Tenant Security Deposit and 1st Month Rent payments via Online Tenant Portal
This has proven to be a great option for our tenants… considerably easier than a trip to the bank.
As you begin the pursuit of your vision and plans for 2020, I would encourage you to also take some time to reflect on your accomplishments in 2019. While 20/20 vision is great… Hindsight is also 20/20.
